Dr Brigitte Bach

Head of Energy Department, Austrian Institute of Technology

Brigitte Bach is head of Energy Department of the AITAustrian Institute of Technology and authorized representative of the AITAustrian Institute of Technology Ltd.

Brigitte Bach received the PhD degree in Technical Physics from Vienna University of Technology, Vienna, Austria, in 1992. Postgradually she studied “Management Development and Communication” at the Danube University Krems, Austria.

She started her career at AITin 1999, since January 2009 she has been Head of Energy Department at AITAustrian Institute of Technology. Her main research areas are Electric Energy Infrastructure and Energy for the Built Environment.

Additionally Brigitte Bach is active in the supervisory board of the TechnicalUniversityin Graz, Austria, and in other bodies, like the AGE– Advisory board for Energy Research for the 7th Framework Programme for the European Commission. She became Vice Chair of the IEA Experts Group on Science for Energy and the European Heat Pump Association (EHPA). In autumn 2009 Brigitte Bach received the award “Austrian of the Year” in research category.
